Olive groves

OlioMezzabarba was born in the late 1940s, with the opening of a small oil mill and the planting of the first olive grove, 400 trees of the Caninese variety.

Now in its third generation, we cultivate over 15 hectares of specialized olive groves, with plants mainly of the Caninese variety, accompanied by a small percentage of early local varieties: Maurino, Leccino, Frantoio.

Since 1994 we have been certified BIO, a natural consequence of the quality policy pursued over time, of the desire to offer a genuine product, and simple formalization of an ethic that places at its base full harmony with nature and respect for the land and its balances, according to the peasant tradition from which we come. Over the years our research around the natural ecosystem of the olive grove has never stopped. We promote an attitude of observation and respect, and of minimal intervention.

The harvest of our olive trees takes place entirely in the month of October, with combs and facilitators, when the fruits have not yet reached maturity.

The processing is express. The oil is green, aromatic, spicy and bitter.

We focus all our energy and make every choice to obtain a high quality product, that speaks for itself, nutritious, minimal and essential , as oil, a basic food, must be. Without frills and attention spent on something other than genuineness, taste, respectful production.
