*OLIOPOP THE MANIFESTO* is a series of considerations written in 2016, for the most part.
This is the formalization of a completed path, of a review of the company's goals, of the reference market, of our ethical and ideological positioning.
We are reposting it here, just as it was published on our old blog in 2016. Because we are always OlioPop, if possible even more!

Triple toss this time, like when you play at the merchant at the fair, or at tombola. Come on, those endless afternoons after Christmas lunch, in which for once a year all together, the only topic of argument is the price of the cards and the cosmic theories on the division of the prizes.
TERRITORY+EMPATHY+NO EXPORT
It seems like a bold triptych, but in reality it is not. It deals only with participation, this unknown, in our society of tiredness, hyperactivity, lack of time, attention and human relationships.
As farmers, olive growers and millers, we draw on the resources of our land, and we must give back to it.
What?
The care, and our products.
Linear, flawless. We do not want to cross oceans, triple prices and CO2 emissions into the air. We do not want to be a brand among many in a supermarket. We do not want to be on the luxurious shelves of any Farinetti (*I swear I will not open this discussion!).
The real dream that we have been pursuing for years is to be in our neighbors' houses, the corner! The extremist zero km! And what a satisfaction, to swell a thousand chests, when some colleague asks you, but where do you sell? Who acts as an intermediary for you? Do you have an exporter? Like direct sales? Like in the company? Like without intermediation? What, NOT EXPORTING? What, YOU DON'T WANT TO EXPORT????
No export and no expo (*I won't even open this discussion, otherwise I would have to write until mid-August, and since today I sowed the garden I don't think I have time), but only truth and participation. We are here, we are real, we do things, we obtain a product that in addition to consuming you will be able to know, in its entirety! If a percentage of our oil moves a little further away, it does so within a radius of a few hundred kilometers, and it always does so for good reasons.
There are those who had a father in Farnese, who always took oil here, then moved, but continues to take oil here. And it's called roots, affection and tradition.
There are those who, for example, from Pessano con Bornago, which is 525 km from Farnese, one of the most epic journeys that OlioMezzabarba makes, do a search on the internet, find us, get curious, taste us and never leave us again. And make us participants in their purchasing group.
And then we end up consulting each other and asking each other for advice on a lot of things, exchanging recipes, opinions and getting angry!
There is the Swedish couple you meet one evening at dinner at Piazzetta del Sole, who adore your oil, and adore your way of doing things, so they choose you, wholeheartedly, without intermediaries.
There is that couple who came on holiday to Tuscia, who tasted your oil at Rokkabar who often makes bruschetta with it, who then came to meet you, who then took a nice walk with you in the olive grove, who then finally came to pick courgettes in the garden... who then orders oil from you from the province of Brescia, and orders it for themselves, for their mother, for their sister, for their colleague and even for the newsagent!
There are those who always follow you because with your crazy ideas together with the oil they say that you sell an idea…
Or there is Mr. Orazio, who received a can of oil as a gift one Christmas a few years ago, and wanted to buy it again, which he and his wife liked very much.
And since then, with every order, by phone of course, we have a great chat, which mainly focuses on a trip of his here to Farnese, to be organized entirely with public transport because Orazio doesn't drive a car.
I have a million memories. Almost one for every can of oil.
