A special offer for this new and young winery ;)

Riccardo and Nina from Bagnolungo describe themselves as follows:

Our small company was born in 2021 on the volcanic soils of the Maremma Toscana, a stone's throw from the enchanting city of Pitigliano.

After many years in the wine and restaurant industry around the world, we chose this place to put down our roots. We produce wine and extra virgin olive oil following the principles of sustainability and respecting nature.

the terroir

The surrounding area is a high hill at 235m above sea level surrounded by small streams that over the centuries have eroded the land, designing the landscape. Volcanic soils composed of loose tuff, pyroclastic material deposited following the volcanic activity of the nearby lakes of Bolsena and Mezzano. We are separated by thirty kilometers from both the Argentario sea and Mount Amiata, with a Mediterranean climate characterized by gentle winds that cross the vineyards and olive groves from east to west.

the vineyards

The Bagnolungo vineyard is located a few kilometers from Pitigliano, on a high hill surrounded by rivers and streams. Bagnolungo and La Nova on one side, Roiana on the other: they all flow into the large Fiora basin a few hundred meters away. The loose volcanic tuff that makes up the soil favors the propagation of the roots towards the underground thermal water reserves, helping the plants to overcome dry years. The La Nova vineyard, planted in 2007, is mainly composed of Aleatico and partly of Cabernet Sauvignon and Ciliegiolo, with a north-west/south-east exposure, trained with a single guyot. The Roiana vineyard, on the other hand, is one of the ancient vineyards of Pitigliano, planted in 1969 with ungrafted roots, with an east/west exposure and trained with a high cordon. The varieties present are mainly Procanico rosa, Malavasia, Chardonnay and Sangiovese. For fertilization and treatments we only use products permitted in organic farming.
